Yes. In Import library, paste a public author-page link or multiple book links, or upload a catalog CSV. Frontlist retrieves available metadata in batches, matches books and editions, and flags duplicates. One review screen initially shows missing or conflicting details; you can inspect all matches before confirming the save. Each edition keeps its retailer links. Start with one title free; Pro supports larger catalogs.
It imports the book listings exposed on the public page and follows supported pagination. Choose the saved author first so listings attributed to another author are flagged for review. Pages restricted by sign-in, scripts, or retailer access may not expose the full catalog. If no book links are found, Frontlist reports it. Use individual listing links or a catalog CSV for the missing books.
Yes. Retrieval progress is saved after each batch, and review choices can be saved. Return to Import library and choose Resume intake. No book records are changed until you confirm Save reviewed library.
Yes. Authors and pen names has persistent profiles with a name, biography, and website. A profile remains saved with zero books. Use Add book under this author when you are ready to create the title.
Frontlist is an author workspace for catalog records, editions, private file versions, approvals, destination readiness, prepared submission packages, and promotion. Open a book to manage its publishing work and campaigns together.
Any indie author publishing across more than one format or platform. That includes fiction and nonfiction authors going wide, series authors with a growing backlist, and authors of textbooks, cookbooks, journals, coloring books, and activity books, formats that don't always fit the usual "ebook and paperback" mold.
Frontlist prepares the submission work. For supported KDP ebook or print editions and Apple Books or Google Play Books ebooks, one click creates a package from the reviewed metadata and approved files. BookBub packages include promotion details. Download the ZIP, use the destination portal to finish delivery, and record its acknowledgement in Frontlist. Direct account submission is not part of this release.
Built-in records across ebook retailers, aggregators, print and print-on-demand, audiobook platforms, library and school distribution, textbook and education platforms, and direct-to-consumer channels like Etsy and Gumroad. See the full breakdown on the Features page.
Add it yourself, right from inside the app. It applies across all your titles automatically and stays private to your account, nobody else sees it.
Ebook, paperback, hardcover, audiobook, large print, spiral-bound (for coloring books, journals, and activity books), and digital download (for printables). Each format tracks its own pipeline stage and its own platform grid independently.
Mark a title as enrolled in KDP Select, and every other ebook platform on that title shows as blocked with the reason noted, so you always know at a glance which titles are locked into exclusivity and which are already wide.
Yes. Each title can have a reusable marketing profile. Frontlist scores promotion readiness, builds campaign task plans, generates editable campaign copy, creates tracked short links, matches titles to potential opportunities, and maintains a prioritized action queue.
It creates five editable drafts from your title marketing profile: a social post, reader newsletter, reviewer invitation, media or podcast pitch, and promotional directory blurb. You review and approve every asset before using it.
Frontlist ranks listed opportunities based on supported formats, whether the title has a live edition, and whether the marketing profile is ready. Matching indicates fit, not provider acceptance.
Create a short Frontlist link for a specific channel or campaign. Frontlist adds attribution tags and reports clicks, helping you compare which promotional activity produced traffic.
Frontlist prepares packages and promotional drafts, tracks activity and deadlines, and measures campaign links. You complete publishing, applications, posting, and outreach in the external service. Package preparation is not delivery.
No. Your titles, formats, platform statuses, vendors, and any custom platforms you add are private to your account. The only shared data is the built-in platform list itself, which every author sees the same base version of.
Free includes one title, all supported formats, one open campaign, and 1 GB of private storage. Pro is $9.99 a month or $99 a year and includes unlimited titles and campaigns plus 25 GB of private storage. Both plans include file approvals, readiness checks, supported preparation packages, and Growth Tools. Files can be up to 50 MB each. See the Pricing page for details.
Yes, subscriptions are billed monthly or annually with no long-term contract.
The How-to guide walks through adding your book, approving edition files, resolving readiness blockers, preparing a package, recording delivery, and planning a campaign, start to finish.
Yes. Use Import titles by CSV in your dashboard’s Bring your existing catalog panel. The downloadable template supports titles, series, edition details, and recorded platform statuses and links. Free allows one title total; Pro supports a larger catalog. Preview imports before saving. Matching existing title names are skipped; use the Title ID from Export catalog for updates to change existing records. Blank cells preserve saved values. Files and approvals are managed separately. Read the import instructions.
Yes. Choose your publishing focus in the guide, including novels, series, coloring books, planners, journals, wide publishing, and KDP low-content. Your niche signup provides a starting focus, and you can change it. Print-focused guidance suggests a print edition without creating one automatically. The guide appears on your dashboard and inside each book workspace.
In package preparation, it means the selected edition has completed the guide steps and has a prepared package matching its current approved files and destination review. A changed book record or approved file set can reopen the review and package steps. It does not mean the provider has received, accepted, or published the book. Published-edition audit progress is separate and uses the retailer status and links you record.
Yes. Upload supported files privately to an edition, inspect the technical report, and approve the version you want to use. Each version has a checksum and history. New uploads preserve the current approval until you approve the replacement. Individual download links expire after five minutes.
The recorded metadata, rights, pricing, exclusivity, and approved files pass the available checks, and you have completed the final destination review. It means ready to prepare a package. The provider still performs its own validation and decides whether to accept or publish the work.
The pinned file versions, a destination metadata worksheet, a metadata CSV, and a JSON preparation record with version IDs and checksums. You can also copy individual fields directly from the package in your book workspace. BookBub ZIPs include the approved cover and promotion application details. Packages preserve what was prepared even if you later edit the book.
After you confirm that the destination acknowledged delivery and record a receipt or external ID and delivery time. Opening a portal, copying metadata, or downloading a ZIP remains preparation activity. Record later acceptance, rejection, live status, and errors separately.
Frontlist performs bounded technical checks on supported files. You must run current EPUBCheck and confirm it passed before approving an EPUB. Review destination previews, print proofs, content, production specifications, and audio mastering yourself.
Withdraw a current approval before deleting that file. File versions referenced by snapshots remain protected; archiving retains them and still uses storage. A snapshot used by a package is retained with its history. Deleting the entire book or edition removes its records, snapshots, and packages and queues stored files for removal.
Yes. Test the full preparation workflow with one title and its editions. Free includes one open campaign and 1 GB of file storage; planning, active, and paused campaigns count toward the campaign limit. Pro expands catalog, campaign, and storage capacity.
Use Import library to upload your catalog CSV, review matched books and editions, and confirm the changes before saving. When updating an exported catalog, keep each Title ID. Blank source cells preserve saved values; conflicting values require a choice. A CSV can contain up to 5,000 rows and must be under 5 MB, with up to 2,000 retrieval links per intake. The older dashboard CSV preview remains available for smaller batches.
Select up to 200 titles and apply author or pen name, genre, language, audience, categories, or keywords. Choose the fields, review the exact values and selected titles, then apply them. Blank values do not clear existing information. Files, approvals, and delivery records remain attached to their books.
Choose a source edition of the same format and review the settings to copy. Print settings can include trim size, territories, interior color, paper type, cover finish, wholesale discount, and returnability. ISBN, price, page count, files, approvals, and rights confirmation are not copied. Recheck destination requirements afterward.
The current-destination preparation action reuses a package when its reviewed metadata and approved files are unchanged and it has no error or rejection. Changed book information or approved files requires a fresh review and package. Older packages retain their original record.
Store the manuscript, cover, and supported audio versions used for each edition, review their technical reports, and approve the exact files for preparation. Free includes 1 GB and Pro includes 25 GB. All retained versions count toward usage; each file can be up to 50 MB.
No. It prepares supported destination packages and copy-ready metadata; you complete the retailer’s form, upload, and preview in your own publishing account. Direct delivery is planned and depends on retailer access and testing. Opening a portal or downloading a package does not mark it Submitted.
